Abstract
I am going to comment on a Velux-funded project, led by Den Gamle By (the Old Town), Aarhus. The aim of the project is to write a survey of the history of medieval Danish towns. It is an attempt to let archaeology and history work together as the two authors are the archaeologist Hans Krongaard Kristensen and the historian Bjørn Poulsen. The lecture will try to sketch some of the possibilities and problems that this cooperation has created but shall also present some thoughts of the preceding work in Danish town history as well as some of our new results.
