Nikoline Sauer produced her PhD dissertation at the Centre for Urban Network Evolutions (UrbNet) at Aarhus University from 2018 to 2021, where she also took part in the ongoing Caesar's Forum project in Rome. Her dissertation reconsidered the narrative of Archaic Rome (6th– early 5th century BCE) in archaeological terms. She is currently working as a research assistant in the project Archive Archaeology: Preserving And Sharing Palmyra’s Cultural Heritage through Harald Ingholt’s Digital Archives project at UrbNet.
The scholarship will allow Nikoline Sauer to continue her studies on Early Rome within close proximity of pertinent archaeological sites and artefacts.
