Doliche ve Dülük Baba Tepesi
New publication by Assistant professor Michael Blömer
The excavations conducted in the main sanctuary of Iuppiter Dolichenus near Doliche in South-East Turkey have provided important new information about the material culture and the religious life of the Upper Euphrates region from the Iron Age to medieval times. In 2015, the focus of the project shifted from the sanctuary to the urban area of Doliche. This article in a popular Turkish journal for archaeology offers a general overview of the results achieved so far and about the prospects of future work.
