From research to administration
Introduction of Eva Mortensen (research administrator).
For three years I have been employed at UrbNet. During this time, I have, among other things, been digging into archives about early visitors to Jerash, doing research on early Danish engagement in urban archaeology in Syria and copyediting publications on a variety of subjects covered by the centre.
As of last Friday I began in a new position at the centre. I will still be engaged in archaeology, but it will be from a different perspective than earlier. As research administrator I look forward to new types of tasks within the academic world. I will be coordinating centre and project events, communicating UrbNet research to the wider public, handling funding applications and copyediting journal volumes and books.
