Introduction of Genevieve Holdridge

Genevieve has a background in Near Eastern prehistory with a BA in Mediterranean Archaeology from the University at Albany, NY, an MA in Art History and Archaeology from Bilkent University, Turkey, and an MPhil in archaeology from University of Cambridge, UK. She has just completed her PhD in physical geography at the University of Georgia in the United States. Her dissertation concerned the late Quaternary geomorphology and geoarchaeology of the Mixteca Alta in southwestern Mexico. Her current Post-doc position at Aarhus involves examining the geoarchaeology and paleoenvironment for the large Greco-Roman city of Jerash in the semi-arid environment of northern Jordan. The soils and sediments within the ancient city´s archaeological context will also be examined as part of the project.
