Matteo Mazzamurro holds a PhD in Urban Science from the University of Warwick, UK, and a master’s degree in mathematics from Imperial College London, UK. Starting in June 2023, he joined Aarhus University as a postdoctoral researcher, working with Tom Brughmans on the Past Social Networks Project. His doctoral research focused on analysing the evolution of transport connectivity in systems of cities and its impact on potential human interactions, utilising spatio-temporal network models and entropy-based methods. At Aarhus University, his research will concentrate on developing quantitative approaches to manage various forms of uncertainty in archaeological and historical data sources. Additionally, he will be modelling long-term changes in the structure of historical social network.
