Apart from my studies on the experiences of foreign military observers in the Russo-Japanese War, based on newly rediscovered original photos, my academic interests largely lie within the areas of Scandinavia and its neighbours in the Viking Age. In a more hands-on fashion, I also attempt reproductions of Viking-age militaria, dress etc. At UrbNet, I will largely assist Søren Sindbæk in his research, starting out with the Danish Viking-age ringfortresses.
