Introduction of Wiebke Lepke
New research assistant at UrbNet.
Wiebke Lepke is a classical archaeologist specialized in UNESCO World Heritage and nature-culture relationships. During her BA Classical Archaeology at Humboldt University Berlin, Germany, she has worked on research excavation projects in Romania, Italy, and Jordan. Her MA World Heritage Studies at BTU Cottbus, Germany, led to her involvement in projects relating to cultural resource and site management, sustainable tourism, and the UNESCO frameworks. For the past five years, she has worked for the Berlin monuments authority as an archaeological finds manager at a large-scale city centre excavation. Her interests lie with nature-based solutions and ecosystem-based adaptation for cultural heritage protection as well as science communication.
She has joined UrbNet as a research assistant.
