Open call for submissions to Journal of Urban Archaeology
Are you working on urban societies of the past? The Journal of Urban Archaeology now invites contributions to volume 6.
Volume 6 of Journal of Urban Archaeology will be published in November 2022. We will send articles in review as we receive them (count on two months review time), so you are welcome to submit your paper already today.
You will find the journal style guide on the journal webpage (www.urbanarchaeology.net), where there is also much more information about submitting a paper to JUA. Fees are to be covered by the author if Open Access is wished for.
Do get in contact with the editorial team, if you have any questions: jua@urbanarchaeology.net.
About the journal
Urban societies world-wide have created a remarkable and immense archaeological record, and the material yielded from urban sites, ranging from remote sensing to micromorphology, can tell us much about cultural constructions, environmental issues, and social evolution. Up to now, however, this material has often been discussed within the framework of different regional and topical approaches, despite the fact that scholars working in urban areas often face similar questions about societies, and draw on common theories, methods, and benchmark studies.
The Journal of Urban Archaeology is the first dedicated scholarly journal to recognize urban archaeology as a field within its own right. It provides an intellectual forum for researchers working on the archaeology of urban societies and networks in all parts of the world and across all periods of time.
The journal is using double-blind peer-review, and it is published twice a year. The first three volumes have been published Open Access on Brepols’ online platform.
