Congratulations, Mahir!

Mahir Hrnjić defended his PhD dissertation 16 March 2022.

Wednesday 16 March 2022, PhD student Mahir Hrnjić virtually defended his PhD dissertation "Relinking networks of silver: the archaeometry of Viking Age ring ingots and early medieval Islamic coinage". 

The PhD dissertation presented the results of four closely associated studies dealing with research themes of archaeometric analyses of ancient silver coins, archaeometallurgical provenance study of early Abbasid silver, archaeometallurgical provenance study of recycled Viking Age silver ring ingots, and identifying historical recycling patterns between Islamic silver coins and Viking Age silver objects through multivariate analysis of compositional legacy data.

The committee unanimously recommended that Mahir be awarded the degree of PhD by the Faculty of Arts, Aarhus University. Congratulations, Mahir - and well done!
