Supporting Open Data Policies on figshare

Open data from the Palmyra Portrait Project and the Danish-German Jerash Northwest Quarter Project now available through the project websites.

Since 2019, several datasets from the Palmyra Portrait Project and the Danish-German Jerash Northwest Quarter Project have been uploaded to figshare as open data. Figshare is a repository where users can make all of their research outputs available in a citable, shareable and discoverable manner.

Among the datasets from the Palmyra Portrait Project and the Danish-German Jerash Northwest Quarter Project are the 3D model of the so-called tomb of Hairan in Palmyra (read more here), the unfolded silver scroll found in Jerash (read more here) as well as full project bibliographies from both projects up until May 2020.

To ease accessibility to open data from both projects, all datasets has been made available through links on the respective projects websites. This supports the intention of both projects – as well as that of Centre for Urban Network Evolutions (UrbNet) – to work actively for an Open Data agenda in the humanities in order to facilitate access to data across borders and disciplines.
