Urban Space Between the Roman Age and Late Antiquity: Continuity, Discontinuity and Changes
New publication based on a workshop in Regensburg in 2020, organized by Arabella Cortese, Giulia Fioratto (both University of Regensburg) and Rubina Raja.
Proceedings of the workshop ‘Urban Space Between the Roman Age and Late Antiquity’, held at University of Regensburg in February 2020, has recently been published. The new anthology is edited by two of the workshop’s organisers, Arabella Cortese and Giulia Fioratto. It investigates the substantial changes within urban settlements and their surrounding territories in the transition period between the second century and the sixth century AD.
The chapters explore the results from new excavations as well as case studies using innovative and original approaches to give new insight into hitherto unexplored areas of the Mediterranean Basin. The multidisciplinary method and comprehensive examination of different topics in the book offer a new focus on the spatial occupation of urban territories through time and geographical boundaries.
